The E3 is an EV providing three phase bidirectional 11,2kW power to grid. The central power electronics contains the drive inverter, all three phase chargers and the 14V DC/DC power inverter. Therefore no EV power relevant component are left in the car and a compact power unit avoids cabling, decentral cooling and saves weight, package and cost.
The way the car is designed fully supports solar applications. During the day the battery is charged by solar panels, when the car is parked. Additional energy is charged whenever necessary. In the night the car feeds back the energy for the household and extends the house battery or replaces the house battery.
